A Recent Commission

Before Christmas I was commissioned to make a piece of work for a landmark hotel in London (I don't know which one yet).  Here are a few photos of the process of making it.  I finished it and it was shipped last week which felt good, though now don't know what to do with myself.  I will post photos of the finished piece once it is installed.

Marrakech Inspiration - 1

The BF and I went on a long weekend to Marrakech a few weeks ago, it was an amazing place, I loved it.  So much to see and do and so inspiring.  Here are some of my photos.

Upcycling

I picked this up at Merci, when I was in Paris before Christmas and had completely forgotten about it until I was sorting out some papers at the weekend. I thought it was rather fitting

Elevate

 Last year I was invited to take part in the Elevate Project, organised by Kelly Salchow MacArthur. She sent the same poster to a number of artists and designers to alter it in any way they saw fit.

Down in the tube station you can find inspiration

I was in St John's Wood tube station the other night waiting for tube and I saw these

I just love the way the layers of old posters have been ripped off to reveal the black background.  The second image is a bit blurry but the tube was coming so had to take it a bit quick, I like to think it adds to the effect.

London Art Fair

I will be exhibiting once again at the London Art Fair with Jaggedart, stand G46.

In celebration of that I thought I would show you some new work that I've been making since Christmas.  Some of which will be at the London Art Fair.  They are so hot off the press I'm still working on the titles.

I had been wondering for a while about photographing my work in their frames.  I'm not sure I'm totally happy but I think it gives a good idea of how the look as the finished article, let me know what you think.

A different view of my birds

I worked on a commission before Christmas and thought I'd share some photos that I took, looking through it to show how the birds stand away from the backing and how the shadows are created.
